This company is engaged in the research, production and sale of pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical raw materials. It was incorporated in 1940 and is headquartered in Barcelona, Spain. The company trades under the names Ferrer Farma and Grupo Ferrer. It is made up of 30 companies operating in pharmaceuticals, food and fine chemicals, with the overall aim to improve people's health and quality of life. Grupo Ferrer offers products according to client needs, together with health training programmes which provide up-to-date information on the constant improvements in the fields of medicine and pharmacology, and maintains direct contact with health professionals, patients and the general public. Grupo Ferrer's pharmaceutical research takes place in two European centers. The main one is in Barcelona (Spain), where the all-round research of new drugs is carried out, from an initial idea to its clinical development and registration. The center in Alsdorf (Germany) is specialized in new applications of pharmaceutical technology. Besides the two centers, Grupo Ferrer has set up a large number of collaborations with pharmaceutical companies and universities all over the world. The company has a commercial experience in South America, as well as in Africa and in the Middle East and Far East, and business activity in France, Italy, Belgium, Portugal and Greece.
