The company is engaged in the operation of Teatre Lliure, a theatre in Barcelona considered one of the most prestigious in Catalonia. The company was incorporated in March of 1988 and has its registered head office in the city of Barcelona in Spain. Teatre Lliure was created in 1976 in the neighborhood of Gràcia by a group of professionals from Barcelona's independent theater scene. It is not only a place of exhibition, but also a cooperative society that makes its own productions, many of which have been exported to other cities across Europe and America. From the beginning, theater productions were performed as well as music and dance. The theater is a member theater of the Union of the Theatres of Europe.
