It is a leading North-South carrier. While its services connect South America with Europe, North America, the Mediterranean, Asia, South and West Africa on the one hand, it also links Europe with the Mediterranean, India and Pakistan as well as Australia/New Zealand and the Pacific Islands with Asia and North America. Alongside liner shipping operations, tramp shipping is another large business field of the company. In bulk shipping, dry bulk commodities such as fertilizers, grain, coal or bauxite are carried.
